USE SPEED POST
Government-offices should send all their mail at least the local ones through Speed-Post rather than ordinary mail because cost-difference between Speed Post now at rupees twelve (for upto 50 gms) for local mail instead of earlier twenty-three as compared to ordinary mail at rupees five has reduced sharply. Rather for heavier mail-articles of upto 50 gms, Speed Post at rupees twelve is cheaper than ordinary mail requiring rupees fifteen! Speed post has added advantage of being fast and an acknowledged delivery over the ordinary mail. Government-offices can save much more by using Speed Post than Registered Post because both has common feature of having acknowledged delivery.
A communication from Rashtrapati Bhawan was delivered by ordinary mail as late as on 01.09.2007 by Delhi GPO even though the postal-stamp of mailing post-office at Rashtrapati Bhawan had mailing date of 23.08.2007 meaning thereby a local delivery by first-class ordinary-mail taking ten long days in local postal-transit in the capital.
